recycling plasticTo ensure we do what we can for the environment and to tackle the plastic crisis we have committed to environmentally friendly and sustainable operations.

We are dedicated to running a sustainable business which reduces the impact of plastic pallets and crates on the environment whilst providing cost-effective products and services to our customers. We comply with all standards and regulations and have pledged to protect the environment as well as prevent pollution.

We have systems in place that allow us to measure the quality and progress of our environmental objectives. Our staff are all made aware of the aims and objectives of our Quality and Environmental Management System which is implemented to meet ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards.

In order to know exactly how well we were achieving our goals at being sustainable and environmentally friendly, we conducted a bit of analysis.

Last year we recycled over 35 tons of recycled plastic in the last year.

We Can Collect Your Old Plastic Pallets and Boxes

recycling plasticAs we mentioned, a key part of our sustainability practice is to collect and retrieve plastic pallets and crates from businesses. By doing this we can help reduce the number of plastic pallets that are discarded incorrectly and potentially make their way to a landfill.

By offering this collection service we can help improve sustainability by ensuring that old discarded plastic pallets are recycled responsibly and then potentially have a new life as a new recycled plastic pallet.

There’s a chance you might be reading this thinking you have a store of old plastic pallets which you no longer need. If this is the case please get in touch.

Not only will this clear up space on your premises but it will also benefit the environment and help us tackle the plastic crisis.

In some cases, we can pay you for the plastic pallets you want to

dispose of depending on the type and condition.

Over 80% Of Our Plastic Pallets Are Manufactured From Reclaimed Material

To limit the impact our pallets (and crates) have on the environment over 80% of the pallets we sold are manufactured from reclaimed plastic material.

We believe this is a crucial part of improving our sustainability and doing our bit to tackle the plastic crisis which is affecting our ecosystems.

However, you might ask ‘why aren’t 100% of your pallets made from reclaimed plastic material?”.

Simply put, hygienic industries such as food or pharmaceutical require superior hygienic plastic pallets. This means they need to be created from virgin plastic material to meet strict requirements.

The other exception is coloured pallets. Pallets made from recycled material typically can only be provided in a dark grey or black colour. So any pallets that need to be specific colours will need to be manufactured from non-recycled plastic.

However, these are the only two exceptions we cater for. Ensuring all other pallets are made from reclaimed plastic. In fact, our plastic pallets live a much more eco-friendly and sustainable life than you might first think.

Plastic Recycling Process

For instance, our plastic pallets first start life as recycled waste. This recycled waste is then ground down into granules of plastic.

These small granules of recycled plastic are then injected into a mould under heat and pressure to form a pallet. The pallet will then be shipped out to the customer. However, this isn’t where our sustainability story ends…

Once pallets come to the end of their functional life and are no longer able to be used as pallets for shipping and storage they are collected from the owner.

We’ll retrieve these pallets and have them recycled where they will be ground down into granules for the whole process to start all over again.

It’s also worth making a side note that plastic pallets are incredibly strong and robust and have very long working lives – especially when compared to their wooden counterparts. This is another factor which makes them sustainable and environmentally friendly.
