Associated Pallets Ltd is proud to announce a heart-warming community initiative led by members of our manufacturing team, who recently raised funds and donated a range of toys to Southampton Children’s Hospital (University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust). Their thoughtful efforts will help brighten the hospital experience for young patients and their families during the festive season.

The initiative was inspired by one of our long-serving employees, Callum Mackenzie, whose personal connection to Southampton Children’s Hospital motivated him to take action. Callum’s child received medical care at the hospital during infancy, and the compassion shown by the staff left a lasting impression on his family. Wanting to give something back, Callum set out to support the very teams that had supported him.

What began as a simple idea quickly became a full team effort. Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of colleagues across the manufacturing department, the team raised over £750. This contribution has been distributed to three key areas within the hospital: E1 Ocean Ward, the Piam Brown Unit, and Ronald McDonald House, all of which provide vital support for children undergoing treatment and for families staying close to their loved ones.

Alongside the financial donation, the team also dedicated their own time to selecting a variety of toys and comfort items, chosen specifically to lift the spirits of young patients who may be spending Christmas in hospital. These gifts will be shared across children’s wards to bring moments of joy and normality to families during what can be a difficult and emotional time.

Southampton Children’s Hospital, supported by Southampton Hospitals Charity, plays a crucial role in delivering specialist care to thousands of children each year. Donations help fund life-enhancing equipment, patient-wellbeing initiatives, family support services and the small touches that make a hospital feel a little more welcoming. We are delighted that our team’s contribution will help support this invaluable work.

At Associated Pallets, we are incredibly proud of the compassion and initiative shown by Callum and the entire manufacturing team. Their efforts embody the community spirit at the heart of our company and demonstrate how meaningful an impact can be when people come together with a common goal. Acts of kindness, whether raising funds, donating toys, or giving time, can make a genuine difference to the lives of children and families facing challenging circumstances.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved and to the dedicated staff at Southampton Children’s Hospital for the remarkable work they do every day. Associated Pallets remains committed to supporting our local community, and we look forward to continuing this tradition in the years ahead.
