Nestable Plastic Pallets Southampton

Nestable pallets southampton

We supply a variety of nestable plastic pallets to Southampton customers. This type of pallets work by nesting inside each other. Their unique design means that when they are empty they can fit together in a compact way. This has a range of benefits for our customers.

The main function of nestable plastic pallets are to provide a more efficient storage solution. They can be used exactly like other types of pallets. Goods are loaded onto a nestable pallet and then shrink wrapped or strapped in place ready for transportation.

With superb durability, nestable plastic pallets are great for a variety of uses. They are excellent at maintaining their structure and are highly resistant to weathering, rot, corrosion and chemicals.

Benefits

Space Saving

When in storage, they can be piled quite high, in tight, neat stacks. They take up less space than standard pallets. Pallets can be stored in smaller stacks freeing up valuable warehouse space for businesses and manufacturers. More pallets can then be stored on site, maximising the space available to store products, equipment, machinery etc. This can help businesses decrease freight and storage costs in the long-run.

Durable

Despite the lightweight structure of nestable plastic pallets, they are incredibly durable. Some models being capable of holding as much as 2,300kg. This is because they have a much bigger contact surface area. As a result, they can hold up to 20% more weight than standard pallet models. Many models also feature safety rims which can help prevent the cargo from sliding whilst in transit.

Manufacturing Process

There are many different manufacturing techniques that are used to produce nestable plastic pallets. Thermoforming is a plastic moulding technique, used to create a variety of usable products. Nestable pallet concepts were developed using this very process.

This technique involves heating thin plastic sheets to a near liquid form so then can be transformed and manipulated into the desired shape. Once at the correct temperature, the pallet is then formed over a male or female mold. The cooled finished product (pallet) is then trimmed in order to increase usability.

There are two main types of thermoforming:

Vacuum Forming

Vacuum forming uses heat and pressure to draw plastic sheets into its final form. Once the plastic has reached the correct temperature, it is then placed over a mold. Finally, a vacuum is then used to manipulate it into the required shape.

Pressure Forming

This is very similar to vacuum forming, with the added benefit of additional pressure. This pressure enables the manufacturer greater control over detail and texture. The nestable plastic pallet is then created into the ideal shape.

Both manufacturing techniques offer a fast turnaround time, ideal for our Southampton customers. Thermoforming is a low-cost technique of creating these pallets. Nestable pallets can be anywhere between 50% to 80% lower than the cost to produce a stackable pallet.
